In The Garden Tarot I have chosen to illustrate this card with the fountain as a symbol of the primordial source where we are all born from the water of emotions that humanity enimates from. The fountain in the card has three sections The golden cup the origin of childhood the second level middle age and is the water collected in the large vessel and from there the water flows down into a further level representing old age and eternal life where the life force eventually ends up in the still pool and from there is taken up again in the constant flow of the universe. The fountain itself stands in an enclosure in the garden, guarded by Pan and Flora, two nature gods who are the protectors of nature and life. i This epicentre in the middle where everything has its beginning and end.
