Standing there with feelings of resignation and discouragement over the circumstances has not been the most favourable and the non-appearance of promised circumstances has left you disappointed and discredited. Someone who didn't turn up heartbroken over loss of love and hope of union. The mood has darkened and sometimes you forget that you have your pink umbrella at hand because you can find a comfort even if the situation is not in your favour.

Turning away from difficult situations turning your back on wanting to be with setting boundaries for yourself against the emotions that feel difficult. Beware of being too theatrical and unable to handle what comes up inside you.

In The Garden Tarot I have chosen to illustrate a lady who turns her back out of inner disappointment that what she sincerely hopes for has not been realised or occurred for various reasons. one of the five cups is spilled on a garden table the wine is about to overflow as a disappointment of what has been lost the other cups are empty in the rain. She looks out a little hopelessly towards a rain-grey horizon in the distance, where threats catch her eye. But she has a pink umbrella to protect herself from the rain. It suggests that all hope is not lost, that it's just a matter of starting afresh and not digging too deeply into the misery.
